Characteristics
Moving part drives are generally slower than SSDs, but they reach large capacities and have a better price per GB ratio. Server drives are more reliable than desktop drives and have higher MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) values.
Interface
When choosing a hard drive, you need to consider SATA, SAS, or NVMe drives. SATA and SAS drives are designed for both hard drives and SSDs and differ in theoretical transfer speed.
